Today it’s official. I left my attorney’s office having signed the official corporate documents turning Marisa Peacock into The Strategic Peacock, LLC. What does this mean, exactly? It means that after a year and a half of being a full-time social media strategist and marketing consultant, I am growing into something bigger than myself.
When I started consulting full-time, my business grew organically and within months I developed a core group of quality clients. In the past few months, I’ve been putting together a business plan and getting my business life in order. All that work has culminated in securing my LLC. As exciting as it is (and it is excited!), I am trying to remain grounded. To help me, I have established some ground rules:
- Don’t grow too big, too fast.
- Be myself.
- Be authentic.
- Be creative.
- Have fun.
- Be flexible.
- Be responsible.
These are just a few things I’ve learned from many of the wonderful and wise business women I have met. It makes for a great list, but successfully mastering it will require focus, maturity and a sound business plan. Good thing I like adventures. Here’s to 2012 and the year of The Strategic Peacock.
