What does a social media strategist know about websites? It’s no secret that I have built and designed websites, but it’s a title I don’t use. I make it very clear that I am not a web designer. However, for many of my clients, after I’ve helped them with their social media and digital marketing strategies, issues with their websites linger.
It’s often hard to start with a website if you’re not that familiar with a company or organization. What is their story? What is their personality? Those are questions that can really only be answered after you’ve worked closely with them, which is why, though I don’t do websites, I have worked on these clients’ websites.
This summer, I successfully completed three websites for organizations and businesses that I am quite familiar with. I welcome you to browse through them.
Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program
NVTRP provides equine-assisted activities for children and adults with disabilities, youth-at-risk, recovering military service personnel, and their families in an inclusive, community setting.
I began working with NVTRP in 2012, when I helped them revise their online marketing strategies. Watching NVTRP grow over the past 4 years has been amazing. I am proud to donate services to this wonderful organization.
New Endeavors By Women
NEW transforms lives by providing housing, fostering the development of life skills, and promoting education and employment to end the cycle of homelessness.
I’ve served as a board member of NEW since 2011 and now I’m the chair of the board of directors! NEW is an amazing organization helping to create new futures of women and children in the DC area. As a board member, I help with their marketing needs so when it was time for a new website, I volunteered to take it on!
Open House Modern Beach Design
Open House Modern Beach Design is a collection of furniture, pillows and cushions upholstered by hand with a beach house aesthetic.
I’ve known Julie Vasquez, Open House’s founder, since my days at Safe Kids Worldwide. When she launched her venture in 2013, I helped her with marketing strategies as well as her website. As her business has grown, we reconnected this summer to redesign the site. Julie’s products and her eye for the beach aesthetic are so much fun to engage with!
